Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver and Jon Favreau unite in new Star Wars video

The official social media channels of Star Wars recently released a new clip promoting The Mandalorian and Grogu. Interspersed with clips from the film, it features Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, and Jon Favreau talking about their experiences making it and Grogu’s characterization.

The video begins with Pascal asking the camera crew, “Are we speeding?” To this, they reply, “We are rolling.” The Din Djarin actor welcomes Grogu before lightly tickling him.

Favreau notes to Pascal that the latter’s relationship with Grogu has “evolved organically,” to which he replies, “It started out very reluctantly and then deeply, deeply bonded.”

Favreau subsequently highlights his and the creative team’s work on the evolution of Grogu and Din Djarin’s shared journey. The Iron Man filmmaker points out how Grogu went from needing Djarin’s protection to being able to handle things by himself.

“He’s not just a cute face,” Weaver remarks, which Pascal agrees with. Favreau adds, “It’s not just the Mandalorian anymore. It’s the Mandalorian and Grogu.”

Weaver touches upon her character in the upcoming film, saying she plays a New Republic officer in need of a dependable person. The Avatar actress jokingly expresses uncertainty about Grogu, saying, “I’m not quite sure about this little snack eater.”

Favreau concludes by noting that he wanted to recapture his personal feeling from when he saw Star Wars for the first time through the movie. He adds that while making the film, they used all the available technology and “classic stuff.”

Pascal recalls his experience making the movie, saying, “I mean, it was the coolest set I’ve ever been on.” He also likens it to getting off an amusement park ride. Meanwhile, Favreau further states, “All of that is to give a whole new audience that same feeling of excitement that I had the first time.”
