Stranger Things Stars’ New Movie Is a Huge Hit on Digital Streaming

A new animated film featuring the voices of two Stranger Things alums has become a big success on digital streaming. Goat hit theaters a month ago and not only garnered largely positive reviews from critics, who praised the storytelling, animation, and humor among other aspects, but also became successful at the box office.

Goat ranks third on digital HD streaming charts

Goat is now the #3 movie on digital streaming charts, as per PopVortex. The film can be purchased on iTunes and Amazon Store for $24.99 or rented for $19.99, respectively.

The film premiered in Los Angeles on February 6, 2026, before its wide release a week later on February 13, and has earned over $180 million at the global box office (via Box Office Mojo).

Directed by Tyree Dillihay, the story follows Will Harris, an anthropomorphic goat, who aspires to become the greatest roarball (a basketball-esque sport) player of all time, or GOAT. Stranger Things alum Caleb McLaughlin voices Will, alongside a supporting cast that includes Gabrielle Union, Aaron Pierre, Nicola Coughlan, and fellow Stranger Things star David Harbour, among others.

Critical reactions to the movie have been mostly positive. Frank Scheck of The Hollywood Reporter wrote in his review that while the film’s “hyperkinetic” style, which he noted was quite similar to the Spider-Verse films, could be “a bit relentless for adult viewers not steadily ingesting sugary substances,” the animation was “undeniably dazzling and often very amusing.” However, he suggested that the movie’s visual quality was better than its script.

Meanwhile, Shade Studios‘ Marissa Hill shared in her review that its “predictable, but heartwarming storyline” would resonate with those captivated by “underdog team stories” shown in movies like The Mighty Ducks and Little Giants. She added, “Overall, it’s a solid, family-friendly watch packed with entertainment and a fresh roster of characters.”
