Keanu Reeves’ New Sci-Fi Movie Adds Deadpool Star To Cast

After mesmerizing fans with multiple iconic franchises over the years, Keanu Reeves is set to headline a new sci-fi movie, which recently added a new cast member. Even though details about the project remain scarce, the film has now recruited a Marvel actor, who masterfully portrayed the metal-skinned mutant Colossus in the Deadpool franchise, in an undisclosed role.

Stefan Kapicic joins Keanu Reeves’ new sci-fi action movie

According to a report recently published by The Hollywood Reporter, Keanu Reeves’ upcoming sci-fi movie has added Serbian actor Stefan Kapicic to its cast.

While the exact nature of Kapicic’s role in the film remains under wraps, the report suggests that he could embody the antagonist to Reeves’ leading character.

Majorly known for his stint as Colossus in the three Deadpool movies, Kapicic has also collaborated with Tim Miller on an episode of the Netflix series Love, Death & Robots. The 47-year-old actor’s resume also includes performances in Better Call Saul and 2023’s The Last Voyage of the Demeter.

Warner Bros. has also maintained a tight lip on the plot of Reeves’ new sci-fi movie. However, THR has mentioned that the project combines elements from Tom Cruise’s time-travelling classic Edge of Tomorrow and the Blake Lively-led survival thriller The Shallows.

Ian Shorr of Splinter fame has penned the script for the untitled Keanu Reeves project. Meanwhile, Matthew Vaughn, Aaron Ryder, Andrew Swett, and John Zaozirny will be taking up producing responsibilities in the movie. Additionally, Scott Lumpkin comes in as the film’s executive producer.

In addition to Reeves and Kapicic, the cast of the sci-fi flick also includes Callie Cooke, Steven Waddington, Nicholas Duvernay, Abraham Popoola, Anastasia Sofonav, and Bobby Holland Hanton.

The untitled movie is currently in its production stage. It is reportedly taking place in the Dominican Republic and is expected to hit theaters on August 13, 2027.
