Hilary Duff appeared in Freaky Friday’s premiere amidst her feud with Lindsay Lohan. Lohan paid back by crashing into the premiere of Cheaper by the Dozen. However, Chad Michael Murray, who also starred in Freaky Friday, ended up playing a big role in this drama.
With no knowledge of the ongoing feud, Murray inadvertently invited Hilary Duff to the premiere of his movie while working with her on Cinderella.
“I didn’t know there was a feud,” Murray admitted during an appearance on Virgin Radio Toronto’s Daryn & Deepa Mornings, “How was I supposed to know there was a feud? I found out quickly after.”
He explained, “We were filming…and we had a big kissing sequence, and they wanted our characters to kind of get to know each other.” At the time, their production was urging them to spend more time together. So, he decided that the premiere was a good opportunity.
“There was no free time,” the 44-year-old said, “And by the way, I didn’t understand that there was drama or that that would even cause a thing.” He continued, “Nowadays, I can understand that we’re so in the know with social media that you’re like, ‘Oh, if you do that, it’s obvious…Back then, it wasn’t obvious that it was a thing. I just thought two people are going to go hang out, cool. It’s awesome. It wasn’t anything.”
Despite the famous feud, Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan have made peace since.
