Anaconda tops Netflix movie charts
Anaconda has reached the top spot on Netflix’s U.S. movie rankings, according to data from FlixPatrol. The film claimed the number one position on March 26, 2026, outperforming a range of high-profile movies, including The Bad Guys 2, Minions: The Rise of Gru, Sisu: Road to Revenge, and The Creator.
Directed by Tom Gormican, Anaconda was released in theaters on December 25, 2025, before making its way to streaming. It has continued to gain visibility following its digital release. The film centers on two longtime friends, Doug and Griff, who set out to remake the 1997 action horror movie Anaconda, starring Ice Cube and Jennifer Lopez.
Their decision leads them to the Amazon rainforest, where they begin filming with a small production team. However, the project takes an unexpected turn when they encounter a real giant anaconda.
The movie’s cast is led by Jack Black as Doug McCallister and Paul Rudd as Ronald “Griff” Griffen Jr. Supporting cast members include Steve Zahn as Kenny Trent, Thandiwe Newton as Claire Simons, and Daniela Melchior as Ana Almeida, among others.
Anaconda currently holds a 48 percent critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes. Meanwhile, the audience response has been far more favorable, resulting in a 75 percent Popcornmeter rating. According to Box Office Mojo, the film earned just under $135 million at the global box office. This includes about $65 million from domestic theaters and approximately $70 million from international markets.
