Ryan Gosling & Hrithik Roshan Pitch Project Hail Mary Shared Universe

Ryan Gosling recently chatted with Indian actor Hrithik Roshan about the possibility of a crossover project based on his movie, Project Hail Mary. Helmed by Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, it was released in theaters in the United States on March 20. The sci-fi movie became the year’s biggest debut, with an opening collection of $80 million.

Ryan Gosling and Hrithik Roshan discuss Rocky and Jadoo

The Notebook star was interviewed by the renowned Indian actor for Sony Pictures India, and the duo discussed a potential crossover Project Hail Mary movie.

During the conversation, Hrithik Roshan stated that he is a fan of the Project Hail Mary book by Andy Weir and was excited to see it on the big screen. Later, in the interview, he brought up his 2003 movie Koi… Mil Gaya, in which he also had an alien friend, similar to Ryan Gosling’s character in Project Hail Mary.

Roshan said, “We are perhaps the only two actors who have really, you know, with these cute little aliens. You have Rocky, and I have Jadoo. I don’t know if you’ve seen a film that I did called Koi… Mil Gaya.” After hearing about Jadoo, Gosling said he was “jealous” and suggested that Roshan remake Project Hail Mary.

In his reply, Roshan dropped the idea of a shared universe and stated, “We are a part of this very exclusive professional space alien friendship club. And we got to do something about that, you know? Shared Universe. Maybe a sequel. I wonder how far Jadoo lives from Rocky. Maybe Jadoo can, you know, meet up with Rocky at some point and know, take him to Earth, and then we can hang. We’ll hang out in India, and we make a film about it. You guys should come here.”

Eventually, Ryan Gosling also gave his seal of approval to Hrithik Roshan’s idea of doing a shared-universe project based on Project Hail Mary in India.
