International Spider-Man: Brand New Day Trailers Have 1 Big Difference

Everything is not what it seems in the international trailers for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

What did the international Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailers remove?

Marvel fans have noticed that Spider-Man‘s web-shooters have been removed from some shots in the international version of the Brand New Day trailer that was posted to Sony Pictures UK and Sony Pictures Brasil. While it’s possible that the web-shooters were added to the US trailer, Tom Holland was spotted wearing web-shooters on the set of Spider-Man: Brand New Day in Glasgow, Scotland, last year, adding more mystery to why Sony scrubbed them from the international trailers.

It’s quite normal for studios to release different versions of a trailer, with the goal being to change certain aspects so that they appeal better to the country’s audience. However, the reason why the lack of web-shooters in the international version is such a big deal is that there have been reports stating that Brand New Day will give Holland’s Peter Parker organic webbing, similar to Tobey Maguire’s version from Sam Raimi’s trilogy.

The first trailer for Brand New Day revealed that Peter Parker is undergoing a metamorphosis in the upcoming movie. The hero is shown emerging from a cocoon and being unable to shoot webs from his rest. After falling, a web does emerge, which he catches, although it’s unclear if he shot it or if someone else shot the web.

The footage then shows Peter approaching Dr. Bruce Banner, who warns him, “If DNA is mutating, it would be enormously dangerous.” Keith David’s unnamed character adds, “When between cycles, it can leave the spider vulnerable to threats. And for those spiders who make it through, it amounts to a kind of… rebirth.” These two quotes have fans believing that Spider-Man’s powers will mutate and evolve in Brand New Day, leading him to no longer need web-shooters.

The fate of Spider-Man’s web-shooters will be revealed when Brand New Day arrives in theaters on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
