Star Wars: Ryan Gosling Improvised 1 of Starfighter’s ‘Most Fun’ Scenes
Ryan Gosling recently revealed one of his favorite scenes from Star Wars: Starfighter.
Gosling is set to headline Star Wars: Starfighter, an upcoming standalone adventure in the Star Wars universe. During a recent interview with BBC Radio, Gosling was asked about movie memorabilia from his films. Without revealing too many details, Gosling teased a creature he worked with on Starfighter that became “one of the most fun scenes” of his career.
What did Ryan Gosling say about the fun Star Wars: Starfighter scene?
“There is a thing that happened on Star Wars—I’m going to have to tread carefully—but I went to the creature shop early to see everything that they were building so that I could find ways to interact with them in the film because I didn’t want them to just be going by in the background,” Gosling said. “And I found one very special one that was meant to be background, and I asked if I could have a scene [with it], and it ended up being one of the most fun scenes I’ve ever done.”
The fun didn’t stop there. Gosling now lives with a version of the creature.
“As my wrap present, they made me a model,” Gosling added. “And so I have it in my house now, and if we weren’t being filmed, I would tell you the story about that, because it was fun.”
Much of the plot details in Star Wars: Starfighter are being kept under wraps. The story will revolve around an adventure featuring Gosling’s character and a younger character played by Flynn Gray. Starfighter will be set approximately five years after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
The rest of the cast includes Matt Smith, Mia Goth, Aaron Pierre, Simon Bird, Jamael Westman, Daniel Ings, and Amy Adams.
Shawn Levy directs Star Wars: Starfighter from a screenplay by Jonathan Tropper. The movie is scheduled for a theatrical release on May 28, 2027.
