Chuck Norris Passes Away at 86, Family Issues Statement
Chuck Norris has passed away at the age of 86. Norris was hospitalized in Hawaii on Thursday. His family revealed that Norris died later that morning.
“It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning,” Norris’ family wrote on Instagram. “While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace.”

In that same Instagram post, Norris’ family went on to praise the beloved actor.
“To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength. To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family,” the caption reads. “He lived his life with faith, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved. Through his work, discipline, and kindness, he inspired millions around the world and left a lasting impact on so many lives.”
After thanking everyone for their prayers and support, the Norris family wrote, “As we grieve this loss, we kindly ask for privacy for our family during this time.”
Norris first burst onto the Hollywood scene as an expert martial artist and black belt in multiple disciplines, including karate and taekwondo. After appearing in 1968’s The Wrecking Crew, Norris’ big break came as one of the villains in 1972’s The Way of the Dragon, starring Bruce Lee.
Norris would continue to act in films over the next two decades, appearing in A Force of One, An Eye for an Eye, Lone Wolf McQuade, Missing in Action, Code of Silence, and The Delta Force.
Inspired by his character in Lone Wolf McQuade, Norris pivoted to television in 1993 with Walker, Texas Ranger. The show ran for nine seasons from 1993 to 2001. For the rest of the 21st century, Norris only acted in a handful of roles. His most notable appearances came in 2004’s Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story and 2012’s The Expendables 2.
