Spider-Man 4 Trailer’s 1 Detail Confirms How Hulk Is Human Again
Marvel’s latest Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer has sparked discussion around one specific detail tied to Bruce Banner. A brief shot in the footage highlights a subtle change that explains his current state, raising questions about what it means for the Hulk moving forward.
Bruce Banner’s hand device in Spider-Man 4 trailer confirms Hulk detail
Bruce Banner appears in the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer in human form, with a wrist device explaining the change. The footage shows him teaching at Empire State University while wearing a small inhibitor, confirming he is no longer in his Smart Hulk state.
The device is the Hulk inhibitor, a prototype Banner created to suppress gamma radiation and revert to a human state. He used similar technology in Shang-Chi and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, where it helped heal his injured arm.
In She-Hulk, Banner explains he created the inhibitor because his Smart Hulk transformation became permanent. He could no longer turn back into Bruce Banner naturally. A Sakaaran spacecraft caused a car crash that destroyed the original version, forcing him back into Hulk form.
The version seen in Brand New Day features a redesigned build. Banner wears a smaller device on his right wrist instead of the earlier gauntlet-style unit. Its presence confirms he rebuilt the technology between the events of She-Hulk and the upcoming film.
The trailer also shows Banner living as a civilian and working as a scientist. Peter Parker approaches him for help with a mutation crisis. This places Banner in a key position while the inhibitor suggests he is preventing a return to Hulk form.
Online reactions highlighted the device, with one post stating, “In She-Hulk, we learn that Banner created an inhibitor device designed to keep him in his human form.”
Another post added, “that wrist device is 100% holding back the Hulk we’ve all been waiting for,” pointing to expectations of a future transformation.
Marvel will release Spider-Man: Brand New Day on July 31, 2026.
