MJ’s New Love Interest Revealed in New Spider-Man: Brand New Day Clip
A newly released clip from Spider-Man: Brand New Day is stirring emotions online. Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker, but this time, things look far more complicated for his relationship with MJ.
Spider-Man 4 clip reveals MJ’s new love interest in Brand New Day
The latest clip for the yet-to-be-released Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer shows Zendaya’s MJ with a new guy, played by Eman Esfandi. For those not in the know, Esfandi played Ezra Bridger in Ahsoka. In the recently surfaced clip, he gently runs his fingers through her hair while Peter watches from a distance, unable to step in. The quiet moment looks emotional because Peter clearly still cares, but he cannot reveal himself.
This fallout connects directly to the ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home. To stop the multiverse from collapsing, Peter asked Doctor Strange to erase him from everyone’s memory. As a result, MJ and Ned no longer remember him or his secret identity. That reset now shapes the emotional core of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Fans have reacted strongly to the clip. Some expressed sympathy for Peter, while others focused on the new character’s introduction. One reaction read, “Feel for you, Peter,” while another confirmed long-running rumors, writing, “Yup it looks eman esfandi… now confirmed.” Others are already speculating about future storylines, including possible appearances from Black Cat or even Harry Osborn in later films.
The film also expands its cast significantly. Along with Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon returning as Ned, new additions include Jon Bernthal, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Sadie Sink in a mystery role. Reports also confirm Mark Ruffalo will appear, bringing the Hulk into the story. More names join the lineup, including Michael Mando returning as Scorpion and Tramell Tillman.
Spider-Man 4 is currently set to release in theaters on July 31.
