Glen Powell’s Crocodile Horror Movie Gets Exciting First Details

The first details on Glen Powell’s newest project have been unveiled.

What do we know about Glen Powell’s crocodile horror movie?

Lionsgate has landed screenwriters Kas Graham and Rebecca Pollock’s horror-thriller project, The Death Roll. Powell is set to produce the movie via his Barnstorm banner, alongside Dan Cohen. The Order producer Bryan Haas will also produce The Death Roll via Chasing Epic Pictures. Barnstorm’s Ryan Schwartz will executive produce.

The Death Roll will center on a saltwater crocodile turning a supposedly lovely vacation into a night of survival. According to the plot details, the movie “follows a couple whose dream vacation turns into a nightmare when they encounter the unexpected: an invasive 15-foot saltwater crocodile.”

Other details about the movie, including the cast, remain under wraps. It wasn’t revealed yet if Powell will also star in the project in addition to sitting in the producer’s chair. The Death Roll won’t be Powell’s first project as a producer, having previously co-produced Netflix’s rom-com crime movie Hit Man and Columbia Pictures’ biographical war movie Devotion. Powell also starred in both projects.

Powell recently produced the 2024 documentary film The Blue Angels. Earlier this year, it was reported that the actor will be starring alongside Jenna Ortega (Wednesday) in J.J. Abrams’ new feature, The Great Beyond, set for theatrical release on November 13, 2026.

Best known for his roles in Top Gun: Maverick and Twisters, Powell’s other movie credits include The Expendables 3, Hidden Figures, Anyone but You, Set It Up, The Running Man, and — most recently — How to Make a Killing.

On television, Powell starred as Chad Radwell in the satirical dark comedy Scream Queens. He also played the titular Chad Powers in Hulu’s sports comedy, in which he also served as co-creator, writer, and executive producer.
