Alan Ritchson Reveals ‘Dream Role’ Video Game Movie That Could Happen

Alan Ritchson recently teased a sci-fi action movie that will certainly please fans of video games.

What video game movie did Alan Ritchson tease?

On his Instagram, Ritchson shared a photo of his character from War Machine as Solid Snake, the protagonist of the Metal Gear Solid video game series. “The Dream,” Ritchson wrote in the caption. “Next, La Li Lu Le Lo?”

“La Li Lu Le Lo” is a code referring to The Patriots, the AI-backed organization that controls the world in Metal Gear Solid.

Ritchson’s latest movie, War Machine, has generated several comparisons to Metal Gear Solid because of its humanity vs. AI premise. The movie depicts Ritchson as an elite soldier leading his team in a battle against a futuristic robot intent on killing humans.

Created by Hideo Kojima for PlayStation, Metal Gear Solid follows Solid Snake, a soldier tasked with infiltrating a nuclear facility to thwart a terrorist threat and liberate hostages.

Jordan Vogt-Roberts has been attached to direct a live-action Metal Gear Solid for over a decade. In 2020, Oscar Isaac was cast as Snake. As of March 2026, Metal Gear Solid has not progressed past the development stage, and there is no timeline for the film’s release.

In War Machine, Ritchson plays Staff Sergeant 81, a physically gifted soldier training to become an Army Ranger. 81’s final training exercise becomes a life-or-death situation when his group faces off against a war machine from another planet.

Directed by Patrick Hughes, War Machine debuted at No. 1 on Netflix‘s global streaming chart. Hughes and Ritchson have teased plans for a sequel if Netflix decides to explore more stories in this universe.

As for Ritchson, many fans are also waiting for his return as the titular hero in Reacher, Prime Video’s hit action TV show. Season 4 is expected to arrive later this year.
