Ryan Reynolds’ NSFW Hulk Photo Joke Has Deadpool & Wolverine Fans Giggling

Ryan Reynolds took to Instagram to share a picture of himself posing with Hulk hands, seemingly referencing a joke from Deadpool & Wolverine. This prompted widespread speculation among fans. Some of them recognized he was referencing a hilarious moment from the third Deadpool film. Meanwhile, others wondered if he was teasing a new MCU crossover.

Ryan Reynolds shares hilarious call back to Deadpool & Wolverine gag

Ryan Reynolds recently shared a photo on Instagram in which he posed with Hulk arms. He notably had a deadpan facial expression and captioned the post, “IYKYK.” This acronym stands for “If you know, you know.”

Fans immediately recognized the image and the caption as a hilarious callback to a scene from Deadpool & Wolverine. In it, while interviewing for a position in the Avengers, Wade Wilson tells Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) that he knows he was caught “smashturbating” in Stark Tower’s lobby. A confused Hogan then asks him what he means. Wilson explains, “When you get those toy Hulk hands, and then you just look down, and you just brace yourself, and you ravage the midsection.” Hogan becomes visibly embarrassed/disgusted as he hears the explanation.

Meanwhile, some believed he was indirectly teasing an MCU crossover between Hulk and Deadpool. Notably, the Green Goliath made a brief cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, fighting an alternate version of Hugh Jackman’s clawed mutant.

Interestingly, Reynolds’ main character in Free Guy conjured a Hulk arm along with a Captain America shield in one scene while fighting another version of himself. However, the above post is not a tease for either Free Guy 2 or Deadpool vs. Hulk.

Alternatively, he could be expressing his elation at his soccer team, Wrexham AFC, recording a 2-0 win against Swansea City on March 13, 2026.

Reynolds’ post comes shortly after T.J. Miller, who appeared in the first two Deadpool films as Weasel, teased that the former had a “really good” idea for the next film in the franchise. Speaking to 101Wrif, he shared, “You know, it’s just, it is really smart. He told me the idea.” He continued, “I kind of got hair on the back of my neck standing up because I was just like, I didn’t think you could do something that’s even more different than Deadpool & Wolverine.”

Miller then praised The Adam Project star, calling him a “powerhouse” when it came to conceiving Deadpool’s comedy.
