Jason Momoa’s Aquaman Look Returns in Unseen Justice League Photo

Zack Snyder is taking fans back to Jason Momoa‘s early days as Aquaman. A newly shared unseen behind-the-scenes photo reveals the actor while preparing for Justice League.

Zack Snyder shares Jason Momoa’s Aquaman prep photo before Justice League

Director Zack Snyder recently posted an unseen photo on Instagram, showing Jason Momoa during early preparation for Justice League. The picture dates back to the period when the actor was getting ready to play the Atlantean hero. According to the caption, the image was taken in Snyder’s office in England while the film was still in its prep stage.

Snyder wrote, “@prideofgypsies as Aquaman in my office in England during prep for Justice League. Shot on my iPhone.” Snyder also tagged Momoa in the post.

The photo quickly caught attention online and sparked a wave of reactions from fans of Snyder’s DC universe. Some users used the moment to push for the return of the SnyderVerse. One fan wrote, “Can’t wait for sequels and Batfleck solo movie Zack.” Another posted, “Restore TheSnyderVerse.”

Others debated the future of the franchise and the character itself. A few comments also praised Momoa’s take on Aquaman, noting that he helped turn the character into a tougher, more serious hero rather than the long-running joke about “talking to fish.”

Aquaman’s first major appearance in the DC Extended Universe took place in Justice League, released in 2017. The film was initially directed by Zack Snyder but was later completed by Joss Whedon after Snyder stepped away during production because of personal reasons. The movie featured a lineup of major DC heroes, including Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Henry Cavill as Superman.

Years later, Snyder returned to release his own version, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which arrived on streaming in 2021 after strong fan campaigns. The extended cut restored much of Snyder’s original story and tone. Meanwhile, Momoa’s Aquaman went on to lead his own solo film, Aquaman, which became one of DCEU’s biggest box-office hits.
