Hilary Duff discloses who her favorite on-screen love interest is
Hilary Duff appeared on the Tuesday, March 10 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Fallon asked her to answer fan questions sent to the show, one of which focused on her famous on-screen partners.
He asked Duff to choose between Chad Michael Murray from A Cinderella Story and Penn Badgley from Gossip Girl and Yani Gellman from The Lizzie McGuire Movie. Duff paused for a second and smiled a little.
She told Fallon, “Okay, I’m very curious to know who you’re going to guess. I don’t want to look. I don’t know. The audience really just skewed my… I’m just going to stick to it.” Duff said she recently watched A Cinderella Story again with her daughter.
The moment reminded her how romantic the film felt. She said, “I just watched it with my daughter, and it’s embarrassing that she always wants to watch it. I’m going to say Chad Michael Murray. It was the slow walk of the bleachers… And the raindrop. I was like, wow, this is romantic.”
Over the years, Duff shared great chemistry with several c-stars. She played Olivia Burke alongside Badgley’s Dan Humphrey in Gossip Girl and also appeared with Paolo Valisari in The Lizzie McGuire Movie, where the character was played by Yani Gellman.
However, Duff ultimately chose Murray as her favorite on-screen love interest. In A Cinderella Story, she played Sam, a diner girl who feels overlooked at school. One night changes everything for her. She finally gets her fairy-tale moment with Prince Charming, Austin Ames.
Even years later, Duff still finds their chemistry romantic, and the fans on The Tonight Show cheered loudly when she revealed her choice.
