Writer of Divisive Star Wars Show Also Co-Wrote The Mandalorian & Grogu
The Mandalorian and Grogu reportedly onboarded a third screenwriter to contribute to the upcoming film. They previously worked on two shows that generated divisive responses from fans. Releasing later this year, the upcoming film is a sequel to the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian, which ran for three seasons between 2019 and 2023.
The Mandalorian and Grogu movie has a third writer
Noah Kloor is reportedly the third screenwriter of The Mandalorian and Grogu. His involvement was revealed in a listing for the Writers’ Guild of America. Jon Favreau, who previously helmed The Mandalorian, and Lucasfilm President and CCO Dave Filoni were earlier confirmed as screenwriters.
Kloor previously wrote all seven episodes of The Book of Boba Fett alongside Favreau. He and the latter also co-scripted an episode of The Mandalorian Season 3, Episode 3 – Chapter 19: The Convert. Notably, both reportedly received mixed responses from fans because of certain creative choices they believed were detrimental to the overarching stories.
The Mandalorian and Grogu premieres in theaters on May 22, 2026. Jon Favreau directed the film from his, Filoni, and Kloor’s script. He and Filoni also co-produced it with Kathleen Kennedy and Ian Bryce.
“The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy,” reads the official synopsis. “As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin and his young apprentice Grogu.”
Pedro Pascal leads the cast as Din Djarin/The Mandalorian, alongside Grogu, brought to life through animatronics, puppetry, and visual effects. Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White co-star as Ward and Rotta the Hutt. The former is a colonel who leads the New Republic’s Adelphi Rangers and previously served the Rebel Alliance as a pilot. Meanwhile, the latter is the son of Tatooine’s deceased crime lord and major Star Wars antagonist, Jabba the Hutt.
Also appearing in the film are Jonny Coyne as Imperial Warlord, reprising his role from The Mandalorian, Steve Blum as Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios, and Martin Scorsese as an Ardennian shopkeeper.
